About/CVIG
Andronik, 2020

There was a period of over a year when I shot almost exclusively nudes. For me, the naked body has nothing to do with sexuality. The naked body is beautiful, fragile, open. It is like a landscape – an unknown, new planet – and even if you think you’ve fully explored it, you just have to look at it from a different angle. For me, it’s a never-ending exploration.

In this series, I photographed my friend Andronik, who was deeply heartbroken at the time. I had the chance to capture him in that state where you lose the ground beneath your feet and everything feels chaotic.

It is a very intimate moment when another person trusts me to see them in a state they are usually in only when alone. In that way, the body speaks in verse.
